The extension door is closed for this release

Fella’s personal release is intentionally small. It mounts a folder, uses a fixed set of read-only tools, and returns answers with evidence and verification. There is no pack manager, plugin runtime, or official connector system in the shipped application.

MCP is experimental and inert

The /mcp command is a signpost for future work. Its only supported response is:
The default build does not include an MCP client, connector authentication, dynamic tool discovery, outbound connector connections, or an MCP marketplace. The built-in agent registry contains only Fella’s fixed local tools.

What remains extensible

The product boundary is documented so a future implementation has a clear seam:
  • fella.md is a user-authored context file in the mounted folder.
  • The agent remains read-only and cannot create workspace files.
  • A fork or experimental build may add a reviewed connector implementation.
  • Any future connector must declare its data access, network destinations, write behavior, limits, enablement flow, and evidence behavior.
Custom builds are the user’s responsibility. A connector should not become an official Fella feature merely because it speaks the MCP protocol; it must also fit the local-first, bounded, auditable request path.

Removed from the personal release

The following surfaces are intentionally absent from the default build:
  • Packs and the fella-extensions marketplace relationship.
  • /packs and /connect.
  • Augment tabs, /note, and /table.
  • Dynamic tools supplied by a user-installed extension.
For the current product boundary and the criteria for reopening extensibility, see the lean personal release reference.
